Somehow this shot got stuck in the archives. This is the USS Washtenaw County (aka LST-1166), moored downstream of Longview, WA in the Columbia River. I had seen it there a number of times, and assumed it was abandoned, but apparently there was a plan to have it converted into a museum after it was decommissioned in 1975. That fell through for some reason, and now it is undergoing removal of hazardous materials. The ship was used extensively during the Vietnam War for amphibious landings, transport, and combat support operations.
